At Vidant Cancer Care, we believe you’re a survivor from the moment you receive your cancer diagnosis. And as part of our goal to make every day the best it can be, we plan new and exciting events just for you. These events give you a chance to connect with other survivors who share similar experiences while being creative, adventurous and just having fun. Art and Soul
Monday, May 8

This approach to painting allows for self-exploration and individual creativity as your fellowship with other cancer survivors. Your uniqueness can be expressed by your personal interpretation of a painting designed by Greenville’s own Lisa Jordan. Her hands-on guidance is available throughout the experience. Due to limited spacing, we are making this program exclusive for adult cancer survivors only.

Warm Up to Wellness

Let us help you put a spring in your step. This event for adult cancer survivors will give you hands-on experience with different forms of exercise that can keep you connected to a community of wellness, including other cancer survivors and caregivers. Get ready to have some fun and learn more about how physical fitness can enhance your overall well-being. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about specific exercise programs for cancer survivors.

National Cancer Survivors Day 2017

Let the tranquility of nature and enchantment of sea life bring happiness to your day. Adult cancer survivors and their caregiver are encouraged to join us in a day of support in honor of National Cancer Survivors Day 2017. This delightful experience is filled with interactive activities, as well as the opportunity to meet other survivors and caregivers in a positive setting.

Admission for cancer survivors and their caregiver has been donated on behalf of the NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Participants are welcome to pack a lunch or purchase a meal at the onsite Dairy Queen for a social lunch starting at noon.

Growing Gratitude

Let gardening help you to unwind and relax. Its therapeutic nature has been known to bring comfort and diversion during times of distress. This free activity for adult cancer survivors and their caregiver is sure to uplift you spirit and bring joy to your day. Participants will take home their planter full of vibrant flowers for ongoing happiness. Climate may be warm, pleasure be sure to bring a bottle of water to maintain good hydration.

Fish Away Your Troubles

This free and exciting getaway is intended for adult cancer survivors and their caregiver to engage in living life to the fullest. Take part in this chartered excursion and catch some delicious grouper, black sea bass, porgies and trigger fish.

Don’t forget your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water, packed lunch or money to purchase lunch. No alcohol or coolers allowed. If motion sickness is a possible concern, please speak to your doctor or bring supportive medication/patch.

Fall on the Farm

Let one of the greatest farms in the region help you relax your stressors away. If you are an adult cancer survivor, you’re invited to a day on the farm where you’ll learn about the process of how Simply Natural Creamery produces their fine dairy products. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a fun hay ride, interact with calves new to the farm and, of course, receive a scoop of delectable ice cream. Your caregiver is welcome, too. Participants are encouraged to pack a picnic style lunch and join others in a positive social opportunity.
